How polymer traders track grade-wise stock across godowns
By PolyTro Team ·
Short answer: Polymer traders should track stock at three levels — polymer grade, manufacturer lot and godown location — and record every movement (receipt, transfer, dispatch) against those three keys. That gives sales a live view of what can be promised today.

The three keys: grade, lot, location
A sales team needs to know what (grade), which batch (lot) and where (godown). Spreadsheets usually track only the first.
Record every movement
- Receipt — record grade, lot, bags and weight when the truck arrives.
- Transfer — moving bags from a CFA to your own godown is a stock movement, not a sale.
- Reservation — confirmed orders reserve specific lots so they cannot be sold twice.
- Dispatch — the delivery challan reduces stock from the right lot and location.
What changes for the team
Sales can quote with confidence, the godown knows what to load, and when a customer complains you can trace the lot in seconds.

FAQs
Do I need barcode scanners?
No. Most traders start by recording lots manually at receipt. Barcodes can be added later for high-volume godowns.
